Vila Nova de Milfontes Bridge Swing

A novelty still unknown to many visitors. At the small parking area on the south side of the Vila Nova de Milfontes Bridge, you can now find a little swing that offers a breathtaking view over the Mira river and Vila Nova de Milfontes.

The Vila Nova de Milfontes Bridge, 363 metres long and built between 1976 and 1978, crosses the Mira estuary and connects the town to the south bank. It is precisely on that side — already in the neighbouring parish of Longueira/Almograve — that the swing is located, offering a different perspective over the entire riverside of the town.

It's easy to reach by car, with a small parking area next to the spot. In the late afternoon it becomes one of the most beautiful informal viewpoints in the area, perfect for a sunset photo or just a few minutes swinging above the river.

Although it belongs to the neighbouring parish of Longueira/Almograve, this swing is yet another attraction that's sure to delight visitors of Milfontes.
