Carreiro da Fazenda Beach
A more raw beach, two steps from the village
Praia do Carreiro da Fazenda is at the western end of Vila Nova de Milfontes and offers a more raw view of the Alentejo coast than the town's more central beaches. The sand is wide, the dune system approaches the houses and the rock formations next to the water line give it a more rugged look.
It is a good choice for those who like less crowded beaches, walks by the sea and a more relaxed environment. The sea is more exposed and the presence of rocks requires extra attention, especially on days with higher waves.
Due to its proximity to the town, it also makes sense for a walk at the end of the day or for those who want to explore the coastal strip beyond the Lighthouse, with more space and less of an urban beach feel.
