A new platform, a new stage

When I launched vnmilfontes.info in 2011, I was convinced that Vila Nova de Milfontes needed a platform truly dedicated to promoting the town. A digital space capable of transmitting the beauty of the natural and historical heritage, but also of giving a voice to the people of Milfontes.

The site quickly grew and gained visibility, becoming for a few years a reference for anyone looking for information about the location online.

Now, 15 years after the launch of the project, the time has come to grow and change.

Why now

Fifteen years after the first post, I decided to rebuild vnmilfontes.info from scratch. It wasn't an impulse, it was rather a thoughtful decision that brings together two things that matter to me: the place where I grew up and which continues to be part of my history and the profession I chose to embrace.

The new website is not an update. It is a completely new project, built with modern technology, designed to last and grow. I kept the editorial spirit of the original: the respect for the place, the attention to detail, the desire to tell Milfontes to those who don't know it, but I changed everything else.

What changes

The new vnmilfontes.info is, first and foremost, a guide. A comprehensive, careful and multilingual guide.

At launch, it includes more than 100 locations and establishments: beaches, points of interest, restaurants, accommodation, bars. Each location has practical information: location, contacts, opening times and characteristics. The editorial content of the original portal, that is, the articles, interviews and photographs, also remains present, curated and reorganized.

In terms of design, the new look is clean, photography is the protagonist and navigation is simple.

The linguistic reach has also grown: the site is available in five languages: Portuguese, English, French, German and Spanish.

What's next

This release is a starting point, not an arrival point. The guide will continue to grow, with more locations, more content, more coverage.

But the essentials are already here: a place to discover Milfontes, developed by someone who knows it.
