FEI-TUR 2026: Vila Nova de Milfontes Once Again Celebrates Tourism in Southwest Alentejo

From June 11th to 14th, 2026, Vila Nova de Milfontes hosts another edition of FEI-TUR — SW Tourism Fair. In a privileged setting between the Mira River and the Atlantic, next to Praia da Franquia, the event once again positions the coast of Odemir as one of the most complete destinations for those looking for nature, cultural and gastronomic tourism in the south of Portugal.

Four days to discover a territory with your senses

FEI-TUR presents itself, edition after edition, as much more than an exhibition fair. It is a living showcase of a territory that, in the words of the organization, is discovered through time, senses and emotion. Over the course of four days, visitors of all ages are invited to experience first-hand what the municipality of Odemira and Southwest Alentejo have to offer — from water adventure to the tranquility of rural trails, from regional cuisine to artisanal traditions.

The initiative is organized by the Municipality of Odemira and the Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo, with the collaboration of the Parish Council of Vila Nova de Milfontes — a partnership that has consolidated the event as a reference in the region's tourist calendar.

Experiences in Mira: from surfing to bird watching

One of FEI-TUR's greatest assets continues to be the Experiences at Mira program, which transforms the river and the surrounding coast into an outdoor classroom. The 2026 edition expands the range of activities, offering proposals ranging from surfing, stand up paddle and foiling to canoeing and kayaks, including diving, boat trips and fishing from boats. For those more terrestrial, there is hiking, mountain biking and bird watching — a new feature that highlights the growing commitment to valuing local biodiversity.

This practical and immersive component is one of the elements that distinguishes FEI-TUR from conventional tourism fairs. Instead of being limited to leaflets and catalogues, the event invites visitors to get into the water, cycle around the surroundings or take trails to discover the fauna and flora of the Costa Vicentina.

The Showcooking Space will host live demonstrations, highlighting local and regional products — from fresh fish from the coast to ingredients from the Alentejo interior.
